Lincolnshire’s Dementia Strategy
Lincolnshire’s Dementia Strategy has been drafted and shared, and they want to hear your views and feedback!
The email content below has been circulated by the Dementia Transformation Programme Lead.
Dementia diagnosis and support is a key priority for health and care services across the country, especially in Lincolnshire, where our local community continues to grow, and we have a higher-than-average aging population.
Which is why agencies across health, care and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector have come together to focus on how we can work closer together and refresh our approach to Dementia support in the county.
We now have a dedicated Lincolnshire Dementia Programme Board, formed by health and care professionals and representatives from a wide range of partnership agencies, including the community and voluntary sector, who all have a part to play in improving the experience of people with dementia, their carers and families, and this strategy will set the future focus for this group.
Following some initial engagement, undertaken by the organisation Every-One, we have listened to what people have told us so far and identified what we think should be our key goals and focus. We now want to test this further by asking your views on whether we have got this right.
We have developed both a full strategy document about our priorities and goals that you can read in more detail on our website here, and a summary which is above, and we would love to hear your views.
We have a short online survey on the website you can complete about what you think, or alternatively you can also email the Lincolnshire Dementia Programme Board direct at licb.ldpb@nhs.net or Colin Hopkirk at Every-One on colin.hopkirk@every-one.org.uk who are helping us further reach out to our community and hear your feedback. We are collecting feedback on the strategy between now and the 3 November 2023.
We are also going to be visiting a wide range of relevant community groups and organisations to share this in more detail and start a conversation about how we can all work together to support people living with dementia. This is just the start of this conversation, and we look forward to doing even more as we finalise our strategy and start to deliver its ambitions.
Please share with others who may benefit from seeing this and who may wish to contribute their thoughts and suggestions.
