Meetings for Our Members

We support our members through different types of meetings, both in-person and online. These include our Monthly Members Meetings, Learning & Development Sessions, and Challenges & Opportunities Meetings. Each of these helps us to achieve our four goals of Advocacy, Building Resilience, Connecting & Communicating, and Demonstrating Impact & Value by empowering you with the skills, knowledge, experience, and connections to be prepared in our challenging and ever-changing sector.

In addition to these, we hold an Annual Conference, which is held each spring. This is an opportunity to bring together our Members, Partners, and Associates to celebrate the incredible work that our member organisations offer their communities. You can find more about our conferences by following these links:

Monthly Member Meetings

Connect & Communicate

Sharing knowledge, information, and meeting others is part of our core work around connecting, communicating, and collaborating.

Our Monthly Member Meetings are a great chance for LVET members, associates, and partners to come together virtually!  We:

  • Hear from a couple of speakers on a given topic to share different perspectives (which naturally generates conversations)
  • Hear from you on your news, projects, events, and opportunities, and share things that are happening around the county
  • Share updates and news from LVET on new and current projects
  • Facilitate and encourage connecting/ networking/ introductions to new organisations and people
  • Share any new funding opportunities
  • Have open discussions around the day-to-day challenges of our Members (and what we can collectively do about them)

Each meeting theme varies, so join us if you can!

We vary the times and days of the meetings throughout the year to accommodate the varied working patterns of our Members. We also record meetings for those who are unable to attend on the day.

Focus Forums

Build Resilience & Connect & Communicate

Our members work with people from all walks of life and across many different communities, covering a vast range of activities, areas of interest, and support across the county. We recognise that having the opportunity to connect with others working in a similar field is of great importance. Focus Forums bring together organisations with shared interests, goals, or approaches to community support. These are smaller, focused spaces where members can more easily share ideas, challenges, and resources relevant to their specific area. By bringing people together into these groups, we hope to build stronger relationships, surface innovative ideas, and help members become more connected and supported. These Forums will support you to:

  • Connect with like-minded organisations and people
  • Share ideas
  • Discuss challenges
  • Forge new partnerships through collaboration
  • Share resources relevant to your specific area

These forums will be ‘member-led’, in that whether they meet online or in person, they meet monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly, and the topics discussed are all decided by and led by the groups themselves.

We want to know which Focus Forum groups would be useful, and why you think they would be useful to you. To have your say, click this link and complete our short questionnaire.

Challenges & Opportunities Sessions

Advocacy & Build Resilience

Our Challenges & Opportunities Meetings bring together leaders, senior managers, and CEOs from across health, care, and wellbeing VCFSE organisations to explore emerging issues and strategic priorities, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions. We strongly believe that collaboration, connection, and relationships are key. These are held quarterly and are held generally online, and offer you the opportunity to:

  • Get involved in interesting and relevant conversations
  • Have conversations on current issues and topics, highlighting key issues that you want wider system partners to be aware of
  • Speak openly and freely, in a safe space, about challenging, demanding topics with the aim and intention of working collaboratively with other leaders to find solutions
  • Network and make new connections with like-minded people and their organisations

Learning & Development Sessions

Build Resilience & Demonstrate Impact & Value

Our Learning & Development Sessions focus on practical and relevant topics to support you and your organisation. Past sessions have included ‘Collaboration in a Competitive World’, ‘Income Sprint: Generating Ideas to Maximise and Diversify Income’, ‘Case Study Writing Workshop’, and ‘Impactasaurus – Measuring Social Impact in VCFSE Organisations’. Each session offers opportunities to:

  • Build new skills or strengthen existing ones
  • Find ways to work more effectively,
  • Discover approaches to demonstrate your impact
  • Learn how to tell your story with confidence

Not every session will cover all of these areas, but each one is designed to be useful and engaging. Sessions run throughout the year, in person or online, with content shaped by members’ ideas and feedback.
