Sheffield Hallam University PhD opportunity

–  Are you passionate about the role local voluntary organisations and community groups can play in generating thriving communities?

–  Are you committed to helping local groups fulfil their potential?

–  Are you interested in how this can be supported through effective local relationships across sectors?

Sheffield Hallam University is offering a competitive fully funded collaborative PhD studentship at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) for May 2024 entry (available for both full-time and part-time PhD study).

The studentship has been co-designed by CRESR and NAVCA to investigate the convening and place leadership roles of local voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisations with local authorities, health systems and other statutory partners. Convening involves the often unseen strategic work building partnerships across sectors, mobilising networks, and representing and coordinating the voluntary and community sector. The successful applicant will be supported to identify a proposed area of focus and appropriate methodology for the study.

For further information on the project, please contact Rob Macmillan at rob.macmillan@shu.ac.uk

Closing date for applications: 17:00 (GMT) on Monday 12th February 2024.

Interviews for shortlisted candidates: Wednesday 28th February 2024.

Further information and how to apply can be found here.
