LRSN Emotional Wellbeing Worker

We are looking for an energetic, flexible, and outgoing individual with experience of working with young people to deliver our exciting new project Fit for the Future. No two days are the same at LRSN, so if you are looking for fun and variety in your working day, and you are passionate about supporting young people you may be just the person we are looking for.

Employment Type: 20 hours per week (including occasional evening and weekend hours).

Contract Type: Permanent.

Location: Home based, with requirement to travel.

LRSN has provided emotional and practical help to Lincolnshire’s agricultural and horticultural community for over 20 years. Our services are directed towards offering a hand of friendship and support without judgment, and an understanding that we all experience difficult times. About the Role:

We are looking for an individual with experience of supporting young people to take up the exciting and newly created post of Emotional Wellbeing Worker within the LRSN team. The Emotional Wellbeing Worker will engage young people and young adults aged between 16 and 35 years, from within the farming, horticultural communities, and allied industries in our new Fit for the Future project. This is an exciting new project which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people within farming and horticultural communities, and allied industries.

Experience and Skills:

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an individuals with experience of working with young people and/or young adults to join our life-changing organisation.

Do you have:

Experience of working with young people aged 16-35 years, and of delivering high quality services in a rural environment.
Experience of delivering 1:1 support and working with young people/adults with emotional and well-being support needs.
Excellent communication skills.

Personalisation Trainer

Personalisation Team

The Personalisation Team are seeking people from across the health and care system in Lincolnshire to become personalisation trainers and to promote personalisation and strengths-based approaches via a train the trainer model. The role would suit someone with ambitions of working in training roles in the future and could use this experience for personal development.

(Please note this role will form part of your current role and will not have any financial recompense therefore MUST have your line managers consent before any application can be accepted)

Have you attended Personalised Care and Support Planning or Shared Decision Making training and thought ‘I would love to do this’?
Have you listened to the Podcast with Cat (Cardiac Rehab Nurse) and Amy (Midwife) and been inspired to become a trainer to your peers? (Listen here to learn more about the role)
Are you motivated by personalised and strengths based approaches and want to inspire others?

If so then read on:

Role:

Deliver Personalised Care and Support Planning and Shared Decision Making training to peers across the health and care system in Lincolnshire; at least 1×3 hour session every quarter (co-delivery with a partner)
Deliver any additional training as identified by the Personalisation team, eg Health Inequalities, Strengths Based Approaches etc..

Responsibilities:

Complete a training programme which includes shadowing and being supported by experienced trainers and the Workforce Development Lead for personalisation
Be passionate about personalised and strengths based approaches when delivering training
Be able to inspire and motivate others by demonstrating the Five Foundations of Our Shared Agreement

Chair of Trustees

Green Synergy is recruiting new Chair of Trustees

Green Synergy is a well respected and successful charity that supports people in the most disadvantaged communities in Lincolnshire to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.

Our work includes:

Community gardening and therapeutic horticultural programmes.
Community engagement events that bring people together to create more life chances, quality green spaces and to re-connect people to green spaces, growing and nature.

We are looking for a new Chair of our Trustee Board as our long serving Chair Rev Canon Alan Robson is standing down after 7.5 years in the role.

The role of the Chair of Trustees is to give leadership to the Board and to make sure the Board fulfils its governance duties and responsibilities. Additionally the Chair of Trustees ‘s role is to support the CEO and team to achieve the aims of Green Synergy, and, at times, represents Green Synergy at functions, meetings and in the press and broadcasting media.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous board or leadership experience – although this is not obligatory. Past involvement in areas of business, charities or leadership would also be advantageous. An interest in gardening or horticulture would be valuable and a passion for improving the lives of people in under-served communities is essential.

As the Chair of Trustees you will receive:

An induction, training and reimbursable expenses
Contribute to improving lives and communities that are disadvantaged
Have opportunities to develop new skills and to network with professionals

A wide range of applications are welcomed especially those with lived experience. The expected time commitment is a bimonthly board meeting and other events as well as meetings with the CEO.

As well as preparing for the board meetings, the Chair may be called upon for specific advice and support in their areas of expertise.

Enabling local voluntary and community action

Sheffield Hallam University PhD opportunity

Sheffield Hallam University is offering a competitive fully funded collaborative PhD studentship at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) for May 2024 entry (available for both full-time and part-time PhD study).

The studentship has been co-designed by CRESR and NAVCA to investigate the convening and place leadership roles of local voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisations with local authorities, health systems and other statutory partners. Convening involves the often unseen strategic work building partnerships across sectors, mobilising networks, and representing and coordinating the voluntary and community sector. The successful applicant will be supported to identify a proposed area of focus and appropriate methodology for the study.
