🚴 The Tour of Britain is coming to Lincolnshire – but this is about more than two days of elite cycling.
Lincolnshire will host two stages of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men on 2 and 3 September 2026. Stage one will start and finish in Lincoln, followed by stage two from Boston to Skegness.
This as a fantastic opportunity to bring communities together and help more people experience the benefits of movement.
That is also the ambition behind Active Lincolnshire’s Tour Your Lincolnshire campaign, delivered through Let’s Move Lincolnshire. The campaign is using the excitement of the Tour to help people of every age, ability and fitness level discover cycling, active travel and other enjoyable ways to move.
There are lots of ways to get involved:
đźš´ Explore local cycling routes, clubs, guided rides and family-friendly activities through the Tour Your Lincolnshire hub
👟 Join One You Lincolnshire’s virtual Tour de Lincolnshire challenge. Walk, run, cycle, swim or row your miles and choose anything from the first 18-mile stage to the full 187-mile route
📱 Use British Cycling’s free Sofa to Saddle app and Let’s Move Lincolnshire’s beginner advice to build confidence and get back on your bike
♻️ Donate an unwanted bike or find out how someone experiencing transport poverty could access one through Active Lincolnshire’s Wheels for Life scheme
📍 Find activities happening near you using the Let’s Move Lincolnshire Activity Finder
📣 Add your organisation’s regular activities to the Activity Finder or submit a one-off event to help more people discover what is available in their community
And, of course, you can line the route and cheer on some of the world’s best cyclists as they travel through our county. Race routes, spectator information, timings and travel updates are available through the Lincolnshire Tour of Britain hub.
You don’t need to be a cycling or sports organisation—or be directly on the race route—to take part.
LVET members could organise a community walk, a gentle cycle ride, chair-based movement, an outdoor activity or a local celebration. You could also use the Tour to promote something you already offer and help people take that first step towards moving more.
The Tour may be in Lincolnshire for two days, but together we can help its impact last much longer.
However you move, you’re on the Tour.
Tell us what your organisation is planning so LVET can help share and celebrate it across the community.
