13th October | Members’ Meeting

Reaching Underserved Communities · 10am–12pm · Online

Join us to discuss how we can better understand and engage underserved communities in Lincolnshire, including how we identify groups facing barriers and what more we can do to support their involvement in health, care and wellbeing.

This meeting will be slightly different to our usual format and will focus on open discussions rather than presentations.  We’ve had lots of interest, so we’ve extended the session to two hours.

20th October | Workshop

Greening Your Organisation · 11am–12pm · Online

The Energy Smart East Lindsey Programme, which is funded through the East Lindsey Investment Fund, are delighted to announce a brand-new series of fully funded events supporting organisations and social enterprises to:

1. Save Money Now
2. Gain New Revenue Streams

3. Improve long term Energy Efficiency

As part of our partnership with LVET, we are delighted to offer the first of two free online Learning Workshops delivered by Vicky Dunn of Grimsby Community Energy, a local energy specialist and social enterprise. These short, one-hour, online sessions will give live tasters of the longer face-to-face events which will be available in East Lindsey over the next two years.

This virtual series opens on October 20th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon with Be Business Energy Smart! – An Introduction, a practical workshop for organisations who want to cut energy costs now, build new income streams and make future energy efficiency gains. Jargon-free and including real local examples, you’ll learn what you’re actually paying for; how to spot energy red flags; energy contracting with confidence in a shifting market; alternative energy options; and how green credentials can open-up new customer revenue streams. You’ll leave with a shortlist of no-cost energy-saving actions.

You do not have to attend the first event to benefit from the second, as they offer useful takeaways independently of each other. However, the second event will reflect on and be partially shaped by the feedback and outcomes the first.

Important: You do not need to be based in East Lindsey to attend these, LVET supported, online sessions, though future in-person events & support will be based in East Lindsey. These workshops are free to attend and are open to LVET members & non-members, community buildings, social enterprises and all other VCFSE organisations.

12th November | Workshop

Fresh Approaches to Familiar Challenges · 10am–12pm (please arrive for 9.45am for a 10am start)  · In person

Location: The Community Room, Sleaford Town Council, The Town Hall, Quayside House, Navigation Yard, Sleaford, NG34 7TW

When a challenge has been around for a while, it is easy to find ourselves returning to the same answers. Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is pause, take a step back and look at it from a different angle.
Join David Regler of Maine Associates Ltd for a practical, in-person workshop designed to help us do exactly that. David will introduce a range of thinking tools that can help you question assumptions, see familiar problems differently and find new ways forward.
The session will be useful if you are working through a particular challenge, looking at how a service could work better or simply wanting to bring some fresh thinking into your team. There will be time to try the tools, hear from others in the room and consider how you could use them within your own organisation.

Eastgate Car Park is the recommended place to park. Please allow enough time to park and pay for your ticket before following Navigation Wharf on foot to the Town Hall. You will be asked to sign in when you arrive.

18th November | Learning & Development Session

Measuring in-kind contributions for match funding · 1–2.30pm · Online

Join us for our November Learning & Development Session, where we’ll explore gifts in kind and match funding. We’ll look at how gifts in kind can help strengthen your funding applications, what can be counted as a gift in kind, how to calculate and evidence these contributions, and how they can be used as part of match funding. Whether it’s volunteer time, donated expertise, free use of facilities or other support, understanding the value of what your organisation already receives can make a real difference when applying for funding.

We’ll also help demystify some of the language often used by funders, including terms such as social value, social outcomes, social return on investment (SROI), corporate volunteering and general volunteering, explaining what they mean and how they relate to your work.

3rd December | Statutory Funded Organisations: Space to talk

1–2.30pm · Online

Some LVET members previously suggested that having the opportunity to connect with others who are either fully or partially funded through contracts with the NHS, Local Authorities, or other statutory bodies is potentially valuable.
After our first meeting in September, those who attended agreed that a quarterly meeting would meet their needs.

Join us for the second of these meetings designed for you to connect with other organisations across Lincolnshire. This is more of an open forum meeting than our usual member meetings, with no formal presentations, but it gives you the floor, with maybe one or two questions from us on how you find working with statutory partners.
