At LVET, the overarching promise that governs all that we do – is simply that we support health and wellbeing within the community of Lincolnshire. But movement doesn’t have to mean a gym session, a race or a long bike ride. Often, that’s the biggest barrier for us taking care of ourselves, the thought that small doesn’t equal important.

But it’s those smaller activities that add up and build an active lifestyle. It can be a walk with a friend, chair-based stretches, dancing in a community hall, gardening, wheeling, volunteering or simply spending more time outdoors.

We’ve recently started focusing more on some of the health and wellbeing related awareness days and one of the ones that resonates with us is Move More September.

Move More September is a UK awareness month that encourages people of all ages and abilities to add more physical activity to their daily lives. The campaign uses the start of the autumn term as a fresh-start moment, prompting families, schools, and workplaces to build movement back into their routines after the summer holidays. It runs from Tuesday 1 September to Wednesday 30 September 2026.

So, what does Move More September means to us at LVET? It’s about helping movement to feel possible, enjoyable and part of everyday life.

This year, the Tour of Britain is providing the perfect starting point, with Lincolnshire hosting stages on 2 and 3 September.

With The Tour is coming to Lincolnshire. Could you get involved too?

You don’t need to be a cycling organisation, be based on the route or organise a large event to get involved. You could:

🚶 Create a walking challenge
🎉 Hold a movement activity or community celebration
🚴 Encourage people to cycle or wheel
📣 Cheer on the Tour
🌱 Help people move, connect or spend time outdoors

However you move, you’re on the Tour.

We’d love LVET members to tell us how you’re getting involved so we can celebrate and share what is happening across our network.

And for anyone looking for a bigger challenge, we’re also inviting members to join Team LVET for Tough Mudder in 2027. You don’t need to be an elite athlete—just bring your team spirit, willingness to get muddy and sense of humour.

From the Tour of Britain to Tough Mudder, and every small move in between: one month, every move counts.

What will movement look like for you andyour organisation this September?
