Appointment of LVET’s Managing Director!
We’re excited to announce the appointment of LVET’s Managing Director, Paul Gutherson!
Paul is a committed and active supporter of community involvement and collaborative approaches to change. He has a background in Art and Design Education and has over 20 years of experience working with public and voluntary sector organisations to improve social, educational and economic opportunities for everyone. His work has focused on improving the lives of marginalised and excluded people regardless of age. An experienced researcher, his research and evaluation work has been used in the development of policy and practice by local authorities, charities and government departments.
Paul has worked on local, national and international transformation projects. His recent work has focused on the wellbeing of people as they age, including increasing community involvement and improving employment opportunities for older people. He enjoys working with individuals and communities, as well as government agencies, to create community led solutions to tricky local issues and likes helping organisations to understand the impact they have on the lives of the people they work with. Throughout his career he has advocated for evidence based approaches to practice and solution design as well as the power of community involvement in policy and practice development. He is particularly interested in how people are empowered to be active citizens.
Paul, who is equally thrilled to be joining LVET, said “As someone who has spent four fifths of my life in Lincolnshire, and most of my working life in voluntary and community organisations, I am really pleased to have been chosen to help LVET take its next steps in building a health, care and wellbeing system that values the amazing work voluntary and community organisations of all sizes do to help local people to live their lives well”.
Paul will be starting on 11th April 2023 and we are all looking forward to exciting times ahead,
