BRIC Announcement from CEO Tracey Good
I am writing to let you know that I have resigned my position as CEO of BRIC and will be leaving at the end of December. This hasn’t been an easy decision and one that I have reached after much deliberation. It is sometimes easy to become complacent in our roles and I feel that BRIC needs a new energy to take it forward and I need a new challenge.
Debbie Hall, Chair of Trustees, commented “We are sorry to see Tracey go but thank her for giving so much kindness and sound leadership to the charity and fellow colleague’s over the years, we would not be where we are now if it was not for all her hard work and passionate dedication to what she do so well”
Having been in role for nearly seventeen years I have seen many changes to our organisation, not least a mass merger and navigating the pandemic, as well as the sector. What I haven’t seen change is a continual stream of children and their families struggling on a daily basis, some of the struggles have changed and significantly their ability to meet their living expenses which is a saddening and deteriorating situation.
The pandemic has provided us with challenges but the teams have rallied to continue to be there for children and families and we have worked with diligence to ensure that the funds continue to be there to do this. The support and recognition of TNLCF and BBC Children In Need along with many others continues to help us in our mission.
Despite my departure, I still have belief in the value of BRIC’s work and approach, having seen the impact of our work over the years, and approach that works towards resilience in children and families to cope without our support.
The Board of Trustees have worked over recent months to consider the best way to find my replacement and are happy to announce that Kerry Gooderham, an existing team BRIC team member, will take on the role from January. I feel confident in their decision and that BRIC will be in safe hands.
I have enjoyed working with so many partners and referrers over the years and am grateful for all that you have done to help us along the way. Here’s to a positive future for our children and their families across the county and I wish you all well in the future.
Tracey
