Health Inclusion Workshops

The ICS Health Inequalities Programme is excited to offer the following Health Inclusion workshops which are free to attend and available to all Lincolnshire staff working in health, social care, and the voluntary sector.

Health Inclusion Workshop; Gypsy, Roma, Traveller

Wednesday 8^th November – 10-1.30pm, face to face – Waddington Community Hub, High Street, Waddington, LN5 9RF

Wednesday 29^th November – 10-1.30pm, face to face – Waddington Community Hub, High Street, Waddington, LN5 9RF

This interactive workshop has been co-produced and will be co-facilitated by the Lincolnshire Traveller Initiative (LTI) and people with lived experience. The workshop will explore who travellers are, their history and the health inequalities experienced by this community. Learners will understand what can be done to improve access, experience, and outcomes for travellers.

Health Inclusion Workshop; Learning Disabilities

Tuesday 5^th December – 1-4pm via MS Teams

Friday 15^th December – 9.30-12.30pm via MS Teams

This interactive workshop will explore the health inequalities experienced by people with a Learning Disability (LD). Learners will listen to individual lived experience and understand the barriers and challenges faced by people with LD. The workshop will explore what can be done to reduce these and the difference that reasonable adjustments can make on a person’s access, experience, and outcomes. This workshop has been co-produced with people with lived experience of LD.

Health Inclusion Workshop; Autism and Neurodiversity

Wednesday 17^th January 1-4pm via MS Teams

Thursday 25^th January 9.30-12.30pm via MS Teams

This interactive workshop will explore the health inequalities experienced by neurodiverse people, with a focus on autism. Learners will explore their current understanding of autism and gain insight into individual lived experiences. Learners will understand the positive difference reasonable adjustments can make to access, experience and outcomes to the neurodiverse community. This workshop has been co-produced and will be facilitated by autistic people who will share their lived experience as part of the session.

Dementia Conference – ‘We Have to Do Better’ Weds 11th October at BGU

Dementia Conference, ‘We Have to Do Better’, (Wednesday 11^th October 2023 at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln), hosted by Lincs Independent Living Partnership (LILP); a consortium consisting of Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire, St Barnabas Hospice, LACE Housing Association and Lincolnshire Housing Partnership.

The event will provide some key information and data around dementia and showcase all of the fantastic care and support services which are available for people living with dementia and their carers in Lincolnshire, including Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire’s brand new dementia support service, ‘I Forget’ (delivered in partnership with LILP). The day will include various presentations from key partners in the health and care system, as well as a special presentation by bestselling-author Dr Wendy Mitchell, to give us some insight into the experience of someone living with dementia, and a performance by ‘Our Dementia Choir’, as seen on the BAFTA-nominated BBC One documentary.

The Person Centred Learning Network

EveryOne have put together a fantastic suite of FREE webinars to support colleagues to develop person-centred, strength-based approaches in their daily work. Clicking on a date will take you to the booking link with more information. They are all 12 noon to 1 pm and are ‘lunch friendly’ so feel free to join us on- line with your favourite brew and your best butties (or whatever it is that you enjoy eating at lunch time).

The Lincolnshire Person-Centred Learning Network offers: Monthly online reflective sessions for 1 hour via MS Teams. Each session will be a place to: refresh learning on a personalisation tool/model/concept; reflect on practice and use of person-centred approaches; share the good stuff and hear each other’s experiences; support each other through ideas, tips and insights.
