Research Engagement Network (REN) Programme
The Research Engagement Network (REN) programme is a collaborative approach, bringing together partners from a range of organisations to increase diversity in research.
Partners of the REN programme include LVET, University of Lincoln, Every-One, HW Lincs, Lincolnshire ICB, Lincolnshire Health Trusts, Lincolnshire County Council, Lincolnshire Community Foundation and the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
The REN programme is funded by NHS England, and available across the country to all Integrated care Systems. Lincolnshire is now in year 2 of the programme.
What’s happening?
Developing a Research Charter
Alongside the REN programme, funding through NIHR was available to develop a Research Charter in Lincolnshire between October 2024 and March 2025. LVET are leading on the development, working with partners of the REN steering group, other researchers or organisations who undertake research activity and communities in a co-produced, co-developed way.
Three primary goals of a Research Charter:
1. Empower people to take part
2. Build trust between communities and researchers
3. Increases clarity and consistency to the research experience
We’ve love your input in shaping what this looks like, even if you haven’t been involved in research before. Completing our 5-10 minute survey will ensure local voices are included from the start. You can stay anonymous, or let us know if you’d like to join our working group.
The survey is live from 14th November 2024 – 5th December 2024.
